How to install a .pkg package file without Administrator password on macOS

The Mac is known for its ease of use and "it just works" philosophy, and installing new apps was no exception. All you had to do is drag & drop an App to the Applications folder and you're done! (Or clicking on the App in the Mac App Store and installing it, but that's another story).

Lately, more and more apps seem to use a .pkg package installer instead for distribution. This makes the whole process unnecessarily complicated and, on top of it, it asks for your Administrator password every time you want to install an app.

No regular app or game should ask you for Administrator privileges! This video tutorial will show you the step-by-step procedure on how to install most .pkg package files without having to give them your Administrator password:

Turn off power to USB ports in Rest Mode to make PS4 silent (and use only 3 watts)

If you'd like to keep your PlayStation 4 in Rest Mode for the convenience of jumping right back into game, but don't like the fan spinning the whole time, read on.

A discussion on Reddit (https://redd.it/4znftc) made me want to use Rest Mode after reading that so many people are using it without having any issues.

What kept me bothering was that my PS4 fan was ALWAYS ON, even in Rest Mode. Thought this can't be right.

Dug a little bit deeper and found out that you can turn off the power of the USB ports and that will turn off the fan as well. It will also cause the PS4 to use 3 watts per hour instead of 10 watts in Rest Mode.

Here is the step-by-step procedure:

How to run Stardew Valley on a Mac

I've been following Stardew Valley since the beginning and been waiting for a Mac version in order to be able to play it. Now it's finally possible.

Thanks to the awesome Stardew Valley community members, there is now an App Wrapper that allows you to play the game on a Mac, without the need to install a virtual machine or dual boot.

I've had a bit of difficulty getting all the right pre-requisites installed before installing the actual game, so I made this step-by-step video tutorial on the whole procedure:

How to add those long 2048 bit DKIM keys to a TXT field that only supports 255 characters

Adding DKIM email authentication to your Google Apps emails is a great way to improve security and to verify that each email you sent is actually sent by you, and not from some spam email guys that no ones wants to talk about.

Anyway, Google Apps have updated their DKIM to be 2048 bit long in order to improve security. But, not many DNS services support long keys yet. Having to enter the public DKIM key to the TXT record of your DNS, which doesn't fit because the TXT field has a 255 characters limit, and you can see how this can be a problem.

Looking for a solution for my own emails, I found this procedure that allowed me to use 2048 bit DKIM keys without the need to move to another DNS provider completely.

Here is the step-by-step video tutorial on how to solve this:
